Helping run a Book Club focused on personal and professional development, our March 2024 book by Brianna Wiest is titled The Mountain Is You: Transforming Self-Sabotage Into Self-Mastery. (Join our Thursday 9:00 am PST conversations on Facebook in our group: Soul Heart Collaboration Group.)
Brianna suggests that Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a key player in understanding how people perceive themselves and others, and goes on to say that EI can make our break us, depending on life experiences and interpretations of those experiences.
For example, one person might feel deeply hurt by their father’s death while another might feel relieved by their father’s death. Regardless, both people are affected inside and outside by the experience. The two different perceptions affect their interpretations of past and future events. Concluding that not all people have a high regard for their father’s role in their life.
What do you think of this movement toward EI being a primary source of our future? Is it necessary for success or just for sissies?
