OUR STORY:
When Barney Cannon sat in my chair (I was a brand new Master Toe Reader) at a “Gifts and Graces” event at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) campus in Tempe, Arizona, in 2011, I had no idea where it would lead. Barney and I connected instantly. He shared with me his dream about teaching children “all this stuff” – all the energetic and metaphysical wellness practices we were learning at SWIHA. We met the next week and decided to begin the process of forming a nonprofit foundation. This nonprofit was centered on teaching children these wonderful concepts to help them create the healthy balance and coping methods needed to navigate the ups and downs of life.
At that very moment, the “Teach Your Children Wellness” Facebook group was formed with the intention of helping parents and their children learn balanced wellness practices.
As it does, life pulled us in too many directions, and away from finalizing this brilliant idea – we both moved across the country and sadly, Barney joined the heavenly realm before we were able to bring his dream to fruition. The timing wasn’t right.
But, the timing is right now!
Join me, Jamie Allen Bishop, on the grand adventure of picking up where Barney and I left off and energizing this valuable foundation as our gift to the world.
Teach Your Children Wellness Foundation is a virtual platform to create global wellness learning for children and their caregivers. We are currently in the process of gathering content for our platform.
Do you have great idea about what we could include? Email Jamie to share your ideas!
Parents want to teach their children wellness, but some do not have the knowledge or resources to make that happen. Some parents are unable to the most of the time they have for a variety of reasons. Perhaps they are too busy making ends meet. Perhaps they are just holding it together themselves. Perhaps they simply do not have the support systems they need. Regardless, the number of parent services that help support the coping mechanisms and emotional wellness of children is lacking in our societies. We imagine this 501(c)3 foundation as a way for children to learn wellness habits that can last a lifetime.
If you feel guided to donate, whether you have a child or not, here is your chance to join a global cause that helps.
